Dinos’ Footprints in Turkmenistan
Below is the translation of Abdulgamid’s post from Russian blog.
If someone ever has had any doubts that the earlier the territory of Turkmenistan had been inhabited with dinosaurs, then today now these doubts are completely dispelled.Geologists from Kughitang Exploration Company, a division of “TurkmenGeology” State Corporation, found petrified saurian footprints in the Eastern Turkmenistan several kilometers away from Maghdanly town. Nobody ever suspected that these footprints had laid next to sulphur quarry (virtually above it) in the North-Eastern side of Gaurdak mountain. According to scientists, the ancient biped saurians inhabited this area in late Jurassic, about 140-145 million years ago.
It’s a wonderful chance to attract tourists from abroad. Earlier there was a world-known plateau with dinos’ footprints discovered with the footprints of two full-grown dinosaurs and a small one that can be clearly seen on its rocky surface.
The route developed in Turkmenistan for tourists will give them a chance to visit a unique region in the country where the Dinos Plateau is located. As the reported of Turkmenistan.ru was informed, the State Committee for tourism and Sports this route to the south of Lebap Velayat (former Chardjou Region) gives the opportunity to see the virgin nature of this scenic piece of Turkmen land with its numerous mountain streams and waterfalls, coves and many places wrapped in veil of ancient legends. Dinos’ Plateau is one of the highlights. There the travelers can observe over a thousand of well-preserved 30-92 cm long footprints in the sloping ground left by Jurassic saurians.
So the paleontology fans already in the nearest future will be paying good money to visit Turkmenistan and take pleasure of observing this extraordinary scene.

Will there be a follow-up regarding another recent article where human footprints were discovered in the same sediments with the Turkmenistan dino tracks? Will there be photos?
