Mysterious fruits
I took this photo in September in Ashgabat in the courtyard of one of the mosques. I found these fruits interesting, although I have no idea what their name is and if they are edible. Maybe you know what it is?

Eto shishki drevovidnogo kustarnika “glidichiya”. K bolshomu sozhaleniyu, ni est, ni kurit ih nelzya. Nevkusno!

We had these on the farm I grew up on in Missouri. They’re called “hedge apples” and grow on, I think, Osage Orange trees. I haven’t seen one in years.

Oh-they aren’t edible! So don’t eat them-also if you crack them open, the white milky liquid can cause rashes if you have sensitive skin.

It’s said “Balang” in Pesian. It’s not edible but they make jam from it.
