When dreams come true

Posted by Abdulgamid | in Democracy Issues | on November 11th, 2007

According to The Independent

Russia plans to set up an organisation to monitor rights abuses in Europe and the US so that to turn the tables on Western critics of its human rights record. This organisation will have its base either in Brussels or Germany.

This is nothing but a shining example of the old good principle: “An attack is the best way of defence”. Surprisingly this goes very much in tune with the idea expressed earlier on our blog that Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan should themselves set up a monitoring mechanism on human rights abuses in Western world. Or may be there is nothing to be surprised about as it only shows that the situation with human rights in Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Russia are similar, hence similar approach?

In the case of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan only one small thing is lacking, that is the location of these organisations’ headquarters. Would it be nice having one in Monte Carlo and another in Las Vegas?

Yes, and London. Part of their mobs are already there.
